Newsletter Spring 2011

Friends of Four Winds are still together and although things may have gone a little quiet of late they are still active (behind the scenes). A group got together in 2009 with the purpose of making Four Winds a better place to ride, learn and socialise.

We set out to organise events to raise money and interest and the results were awesome!
Well Done!

Fund Raising Progress Report

We have achieved so much the list would be too long to mention everything but here are a few of the things we raised money for:

  • A classroom for teaching theory
  • A lorry container body for storing jumps
  • Existing jumps painted and repaired plus new fillers designed and made.
  • Fenced in grass show jumping arena
  • More gymkhana games equipment including some barrels which can be used for jumps

RIDE & ROAD SAFETY

We plan to run the training and the exam at Easter. This is invaluable anyone hacking out or if you are doing your BHS Stages you will need to have this before you can do BHS Stage 2.
Minimum of 8 people

 
New Stage 1 Class

We are starting a new Saturday session. Riding and Stable Management – do one or both.
If you soon will be 14years old you can study for your BHS stage 1 equal to a GCSE

Meet the Staff

Welcome to Sarah Smith who has recently joined us. She has worked in other riding schools, and worked for an Olympic Eventer. Sarah has lots of ideas so watch for updates

HELPERS WANTED!

We need extra help, especially on a Saturday’s to help around the yard, grooming, filling hay nets, tack cleaning and assisting some of our beginners with tacking up and leading.

Are you over 10 years old

Willing to train for helper’s award? Training is free but a fee of £25 is payable to
Cover the exam. You will be awarded a Helpers Diploma of which there are 3 different levels
Speak to Paula!!!!

REQUEST TO ALL LIVERIES

  • Please remember to turn off the lights.
  • Please put away jumps for health and safety reasons.
  • Please look after the 2 new surfaces in the school and POO pick.
  • Shut the door to the indoor school to retain moisture.


CANCELLATIONS

Please let us know 12 hours in advance if you need to cancel your lesson to avoid being charged.
